Branding Guidelines

A key component of the AU brand, the visual identity is the sum of all the images and visual impressions associated with AU. All communications must consistently reflect the integrity, tradition, energy and spirit of Ashland University.

Adherence to a universal set of visual identity standards enhances the University’s mission and strengthens the image of every area of the organization. As the University’s brand is strengthened, so is each area within.

Ashland University’s brand identity is everyone’s responsibility. The set of standards and guidelines dictate how the University should be represented in all communications. The Communications and Marketing department has been charged with managing the University’s brand through the monitoring and oversight of the visual and editorial identity of the University and its entities. This includes, but is not limited to, overall brand and image representation, logo use, editorial style review and design approval.

To maximize the effectiveness of the brand, it is important for everyone associated with University activities to make every effort to understand the brand and to adhere to the standards set forth. Any individual responsible for creating communications materials should be familiar with the Brand Guidelines manual.
